Eye Pillows by MayaT.Design
At the beginning of my yoga practice I never used an Eye Pillow although it was offered in some studios. Once I started I knew that Eye Pillows will be always a part of my Yoga routine and my absolute favorite Yoga prop!

It offers instant relaxation by providing a little bit of pressure on our eyeballs as well as the Third Eye point (that’s the pressure point in the middle of the forehead). I was not aware that my eyeballs follow my ‘mind dance’ but keeping them still with a very short time my mind would became still and I would feel relaxed.

owever eye pillows are not just for helping you relax for five minutes at the end of yoga class when you’re in Savasana (Corpse Pose). Eye pillows are extremely versatile if you simply know how to use them.

In my opinion there are at least 4 ways to use them:

  • Savasana – during your Yoga practice.

  • As an Extra support – when there is not room for your Block but you need some ‘lift’ while you let’s say - sit in  Sukhasana (Easy Pose) and your knees are few inches away from the floor or your thigh is just an inch away from the floor in Pigeon Pose.
  • As Shoulder Soothers - For a stiff neck, shoulders or tingling in the arms - fold the eye pillow in two so it’s more of a solid square shape (warm it up a bit, but not in microwave!). Lie down and place the eye pillow at the base of your neck for support at C7 (the small part that pokes out under the curve of the neck). All you need to do is…take long exhales and feel the heavy weight of your head drop into the floor.
  • Sleep Aid - For the same reasons an eye pillow helps calm the mind – it will bring that needed sleep sooner- just place it over your eyes, forehead or throat and sink down.

Since I am now aware of all benefits that Eye pillow can offer I decided to make them. First for my students and – now it became a big ‘object of interest’ since word of mouth spread and I can’t keep with orders! Ha, ha – that’s a Good Sign! Thank you ALL!

My Eye Pillows are 100% Canadian made. Pillow cases are made from cotton/silk fabric, decorated with ribbons from Mokuba store and filled with ORGANIC flax seeds mixed with green tea and … scent of the season! If needed, I can provide 100% scent free Eye Pillow as well!!!

You can use MayaT. Eye Pillow without pillow case, just place a tissue over your eyes if you have some make up or - you can buy washable pillow cover in case you want to match your yoga outfit and props.
And remember – MayaT. Eye Pillows, made for tired eyes and tired minds are guaranteed to soothe, relax and relieve stress as well as recover from too much visual overload.

My Yoga Journey is not very long but the length of time is irrelevant when something is Right.
