What makes a good Yoga Teacher

Ultimately, good Teacher, whether teaches math, geography or Yoga is one who You, as a student, understand and who awakens in you desire to learn and intrigues and keep your curiosity in whatever field he/she is teaching..
That is my definition that I came to after many years of studying with so many different teachers. Some of them – should not be Teachers at all.

Today I am a Yoga Teacher.
And, I am a student too.
When I teach, I am not always perfect in showing some difficult pose and I like to make fun of it, but I am certain that my students know that I am passionate in sharing what I know.

I learnt the most from my Mentors – Darcie Clark and Fiona Walker (Toronto) because they are passionate in their teaching and because they have a special way of connecting with each student - whether it's a good assist or subtle touch, a name call-out, or even just a glance that lasts a second. I love how they relate to students, who, like them, live in the real world of full-time jobs and full-time stress and I love their ability to change their planned class into one that their students need and want at the time.

Like Darcie and Fiona, I try to bring into my class positive energy, fun as well as humility. I always come early and stay late after class is done and as my Mentors I learnt to be open to questions and always ready to assist students.

I want my students to feel happy during and after our class, to feel rejuvenated in every way, to enjoy music that is carefully chosen and the whole atmosphere of peacefulness and grace.

Being a good Teacher is all about Knowledge and Authenticity and Being of Service.

My Yoga Journey is not very long but the length of time is irrelevant when something is Right.
